I feel a wonderful sense of escapism seeing beautifully sculptured, brilliantly hued glass.
There’s something about the cool translucence that carries my mind to an idyllic beachside; often reminding me of home, by Sydney’s stunning beaches.
This is what drew me in to Amy Cushing, a London-based, bespoke glassware Designer whose creative repertoire extends globally.
Amy’s fascination with vivid colour and breadth of technique reflect in her beautiful, mesmerising pieces of bespoke glass art.
Coinciding with London Design Festival comes Amy’s “Treasure Collection”, in collaboration with The Vessel Gallery.
This latest project is a striking collection of mirrors, inspired by the reflective qualities of gemstones.
A combination of metallic aluminium and industrial-tinted mirror are fused with Amy’s signature, richly-hued glass to create elegant and highly original works of art.
The metallic sheen of bronze mirror and the rich, jewel-hued tones of glass are a contrast I’m in love with.
As a magnet to anything “industrial-glam”, her pieces are definitely on my wish list.
The Treasure Collection is on display at The Vessel Gallery until 15th October 2016.
